Over the weekend Peterborough celebrated the festival of Diwali, which is celebrated by Hindu's, Jains and Sikhs. Diwali is the festival of light and it was a very enjoyable and colourful occasion.
Paul Bristow MP was one of the attendees at the event and he said: "Diwali is the festival light - of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness. How fitting that this celebration in Peterborough is my first constituency event following the murder of my friend and colleague Sir David Amess MP.
Good will triumph over evil.
Beautiful decorations, fabulous dancers and delicious food."
It's great we have so many wonderful different cultures in this city and it's important we celebrate them.
